Get Anyones Google Password! – This Easy!

“I just discovered what seems to me a massive security loophole. Please someone tell me if the following makes any sense.

My son was playing on my phone (Galaxy S3). He tried to purchase in app items on Subway Surfer but didn’t know the password. So, he followed the following steps to reset my password from my phone without having to enter any information about the account:

Starting from the screen after you click “buy,”

1. Click the question mark next to the password box when asked to confirm password for a purchase.
2. Click “forgot password.”
3. Click “I don’t know.”
4. Leave the selection on the page at “Confirm password reset on my Android Samsung SCH-I535 phone.”
5. Click “Yes”
6. Click “Allow Password Reset.
7. Enter and confirm new Password.

And that allowed someone with absolutely no knowledge about my Google account, and access only to my phone, to reset a new password for my entire Google account.”

FaceTime disappeared on iPhone after Telenor 3G Network Settings

Hello Guys, Happy High Speed Data Services Auction in Pakistan,

I’m a happy iPhone user and have noticed that after the arrival of 3G services in the country many users are facing some issues regarding FaceTime disappearance from their iPhone and that is very annoying and reminds me of UAE region where FaceTime and other VoIP apps are ban, but lately I managed to get back my FaceTime app, but no from the help of Telenor but after resetting my iPhone.

So what really happens?

When we insert our Telenor sim it provides us an option of “Carrier Settings Update” and When we accept that update it vanishes FaceTime app from iPhone so Its highly recommend to not update your settings as they are only pushed to your iPhone for eliminating FaceTime option as its more better than ordinary Video Calls option that costs around Rs.2+GST for 5 Minutes on Telenor. And if you have already lost your FaceTime in order to get it back you may need to Factory Reset your iPhone. Hope it helps folks, I’ll update if I find anything else on this matter.

Poke on Facebook

What is Poke on Facebook?

Some people have wrong understanding that poke at Facebook is symbol of disturbing.
Following are the correct meanings of Poking at Facebook.

A “poke” is basically someone trying to get your attention It’s one of the meaningless features that are used just to annoy someone.

If you poke someone not in your network and they poke back. You can
view their profile even if your not their friend!

A poke is when you allow someone to see your Facebook profile for 3 days, so they can know who you are and hopefully add you as a friend.

Billboard turns water dispenser

The billboard serves a dual purpose, acting to draw students to the newly established engineering university UTEC.

Bug inspires self-filling bottle
Just outside Lima, Peru, a billboard provides drinking water to whoever needs it – mainly, its neighbours.

The panel produces clean water from the humidity in the air, through filters.

Researchers at the University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC) in Lima and advertising agency Mayo Peru DraftFCB joined forces to launch it.

UTEC says it wanted to put “imagination into action” and show that it is possible to solve people’s problems through engineering and technology.

“A billboard that produces drinking water from air,” says the billboard up high. And it does what it says on the tin: so far, the billboard has produced over 9,000 litres of drinking water – 96 litres a day.

The panel is strategically located in the village of Bujama, an area south of the capital city that is almost a desert, where some people have no access to clean water.

Access to all
Despite tough conditions with little rain, air humidity reaches 98%, says UTEC.

“The panel traps humidity in the air and transforms it into water. It’s that simple,” said Jessica Ruas, a spokesperson from the university.

“There is a lot of water. It is right there in the sea, but it is not suitable for drinking purposes, and costs a lot of money to process it.”

Ruas says the system might become a wider solution for the problem.

The billboard has become something of a local attraction as well as a local resource
“It doesn’t have to come in the shape of a billboard, but ingenuity is key to development”.

Internally, the panel consists of five devices that extract water vapour from the air using a condenser and filters.

Water is stored in tanks at the top of the structure. Once filtered, it flows down a pipe connected to a tap, accessible to everybody.

The internal system costs some US$1,200 (£790) to set up.

On the publicity side, the panel itself seeks to attract the “creative minds that Peru needs” to the young UTEC, which was founded only a year ago.

“We want to change the minds of future engineers and inspire them,” said Ms Ruas.

The neighbours have given the billboard a warm welcome. It has become a local attraction for and motorists and an indispensable part of life in the local village.

“We hadn’t realised how big the impact would be,” said Ms Ruas.

Homeshopping.PK removed without warning.

Screen Shot 2013-03-02 at 3.05.39 PM

Pakistan’s top web store HomeShopping.Pk’s official page removed from Facebook on 28th of February.

here is the official statement from about the incident.

Since Home Shopping Pakistan started we have been facing various attempts by competitors to take us down. From series of Ddos attacks to having a dedicated seo team to write fake negative reviews over the internet about us but fortunately they have never succeeded as it was on our servers and we controlled it but this time around they changed tactics and made baseless complaints to facebook about our page and facebook closed our page without any reasoning.

Yes, they have literally removed our Facebook page… no warning, no details, no recourse.

Just a notification that our page had been “removed.”

All that energy… the contests, the creativity, the work. You had to see the passion and excitement of the admins who make Facebook happen. And now? They are destroyed.

In a second, 33,000 fans disappear. HSN Pakistan fans are not meeting, interacting, doing all the good and wonderful things that have evolved since the months that we started. A piece of HSN Pakistan has been amputated.

We are blogging about this here to start a public debate about this Facebook policy (“execution without trial”), and to ask for your support to reverse this action.

If one of our admins has made an error, so be it. We are willing to be red-faced and say, “Sorry.” But I cannot imagine what we could have done wrong, let alone anything that would remove the page of a non-repeat infringer.

You know the way we work. We just don’t do that, never received a hint of a warning. All we do is upload products pictures that we selling on our website.

Not only is this devastating for the whole team and for the company, but it raises the major issue…

If Facebook can unilaterally pull your Facebook page after months/years/decades(?) of work without the right to face an accuser, without any details, what is the value of a Facebook page for business?

We really need your help with this…

This is the age of the social Web. Please spread this word to everyone you know, from friends who barely know how to turn on a computer to gurus of social media.

Spread it with class, with fairness… without exaggeration or maliciousness. But please do spread it far and wide…

This is arbitrary and hurtful at one level, and it reduces the value of building a Facebook business page to “waste of time” at the higher level.

The conversation should not be on our blog. Please move it to other blogs, to newspapers.

Please do not let this outrageous policy stand.

Thanking you for all your help,

Team HSN Pakistan.
